Weather In Kilkenny & What Clothes To Wear

Spring (March – May)

Kilkenny experiences mild temperatures during spring, ranging from 8°C to 16°C. Expect occasional rain showers, so it’s advisable to bring a mix of layers, including a light jacket and waterproof clothing. Comfortable shoes for walking in damp conditions would be suitable.

Summer (June – August)

Summer in Kilkenny brings warmer temperatures, averaging between 15°C and 21°C. Rainfall is less frequent, and the sun is more prominent. Light clothing such as shorts, t-shirts, and sunglasses are recommended. A light jacket may be useful in the evenings when temperatures can cool down.

Autumn (September – November)

Autumn sees a gradual drop in temperatures, ranging from 8°C to 14°C. Rain becomes more frequent, so waterproof jackets and sturdy shoes are essential. Layering with sweaters or cardigans is advisable, especially as the season progresses and temperatures decline.

Winter (December – February)

Winter in Kilkenny brings colder temperatures, ranging from 2°C to 8°C. Expect occasional frost and some rainfall. Bundle up with a warm coat, hat, gloves, and a scarf. Sturdy boots are recommended for walking on potentially icy surfaces. Layering with thermals or sweaters is crucial to stay comfortable in the chilly weather.

Keep in mind that these are general guidelines, and it’s always advisable to check the local weather forecast for more accurate and up-to-date information.
