About Us:

BoatTrips.ie is a vibrant small boat tours company that offers unique and personalized experiences touring Kilkenny city via the river Nore. Our tours provide an intimate and eco-friendly way for visitors to connect with the natural beauty and rich history of medieval city.

Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals to join our team as Boat Tour Guides. As a Boat Tour Guide, you will play a pivotal role in creating memorable experiences for our guests, showcasing the stunning landscapes, historical landmarks, and diverse river life that Ireland has to offer. This is a seasonal position, with opportunities for advancement and professional development within our growing company.

Responsibilities:

1. Conducting Informative Tours:
• Lead small boat tours, providing engaging and informative commentary on the local history, geography, and wildlife.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of passengers throughout the tour.

2. Customer Interaction:
• Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, addressing questions and ensuring a positive overall experience.
• Foster a welcoming atmosphere and create a sense of community among passengers.

3. Vessel Maintenance:
• Conduct pre and post-tour inspections of the boat to ensure safety standards are met.
• Report any maintenance issues promptly and assist with basic upkeep tasks.

4. Environmental Stewardship:
• Promote responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
• Educate guests on the importance of preserving the local environment and wildlife.

5. Emergency Response:
• Demonstrate proficiency in emergency procedures and be prepared to respond to unforeseen situations.

Requirements:

• National Powerboat Cert or Inland Skippers Licence. (Or willing to gain licence before taking up position)
• First Aid certification
• Strong passion for the outdoors, marine environments, and Irish history & culture.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
• Ability to navigate and operate small boats.
• Knowledge of local history, geography, and wildlife.
• Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanour.
