Boating about in Laois

Boat Trips in county Laois start at the same location as our Carlow boat trip, at Graiguecullen on the Laois/Carlow border. Boarding takes place at the floating pontoon in Carlow Town Park and from here, we travel north on the river Barrow Navigation as it follows the county boundary of counties Laois and Carlow. This impressive man-made waterway courts the river Barrow through the arable lands of Ireland’s Grain counties and is home to an abundance of wildlife from otters to kingfishers, both of which are regularly seen on our boat tours. In particular, this stretch of river is steeped in history and surrounded by the natural beauty of the Barrow Valley and Blackstairs mountains”

What Our Clients Say

"

My husband and I took the boat tour yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it! The captain, Cliff, told many stories about the local history and was very interesting and entertaining. Would highly recommend this!

Our extended family of 7, had an absolutely fantastic trip with Cliff on the river Barrow at the weekend. Young, old and the in between all alike had such an enjoyable, relaxing, informative journey. If you get a chance to do this trip, do it as you won’t be disappointed.
